Bali Travel Guide & Tips for First Timers

Are you making your first trip to Bali? All you need to know !

Hello Wander People, sunny palms, the great outdoors, and fresh coconuts! Are you considering travelling to Bali, the island of the gods? Bali vacation packages from India will let you discover the best of the island.

Looking to avoid the significant blunders first-timers commit when planning a trip to Bali? There are many things in this beginner's guide to Bali tourism that we wish we had known beforehand. You can use this article as a guide for tourists visiting Bali, and be sure you won't be sorry. Bali is a fantastic island with much to do to keep you busy for several weeks.

Our first vacation to Bali was so poorly planned that we shared everything we wished had done better. Let's ensure that your trip to Bali is the finest one yet!

If you're visiting for the first time, consider the following advice.

Before departing for Bali

1. Visa:

Besides a current passport with a minimum validity of six months, you also need a permit. At the following international airports: Jakarta, Bali, Medan, and Surabaya, you will acquire this visa for free. Bali allows stays of up to 30 days. Please note that this complimentary visa cannot be extended and that arrival and departure days are counted. Therefore, you must organise the visa before departing and ensure you have a return ticket because that is required if you wish to remain for more than 30 days (and trust us, this occurs).

2. Money:

Rupiah is the currency used in Bali. It is advantageous to exchange your money at the airport because there aren't always banks nearby, and the exchange rate can change significantly. When going somewhere isolated, make sure you have adequate cash with you.

3. Vaccination:

It is advised to get vaccinated against Hepatitis A and DTP before travelling to Indonesia. Fortunately, you can avoid taking anti-malarial medications in several places, including Bali, East Java, and West Java. Look at the malaria distribution map. And those pesky mosquitoes are still around. Although you cannot hear them, you can feel them. Therefore, it is helpful to have a DEET-containing insect repellent. In terms of Covid, you must be immunised to travel to Bali.

Backpack or case?

Do you frequently move from one location to another when travelling? So, we suggest that you carry a rucksack. Your belongings are often handled roughly, and there have already been a few instances where things went wrong. The drawback is that you can bring less, but you also tend to get too much clothing, which is unnecessary in Bali. Will you be taking a beach vacation and staying at a resort? A suitcase is then a great alternative to a backpack.

Here is the list of  Activities to do in Bali !

Tips for packing for Bali

Bali has a tropical climate, and some areas' humidity levels can get relatively high. Some helpful packing advice:

1. Try to include as many cotton and light items as possible.

2.  Pack a sarong and long skirt for your trip to one of the many temples.

3. Take your hat! Although the sun is lovely, nobody wants to get a sunburn.

4.  A one-suit is helpful if you wish to surf since it prevents your belly from getting scraped on the board.

5.  A lightweight rain jacket is helpful if you visit Bali in December.

Must-see locations in Bali

The name Dreamland Beach says it all.

Rice Terraces, Sari Organic, and the Ubud Hanging Gardens resort are all must-see attractions in Ubud.

Crate Café, Desa Seni Yoga, and The Chillhouse are all in Canggu.

Rock Bar & Single Fin in Uluwatu.

Tanah Lot (only to capture that one stunning image).

30-minute boat ride to the best surfing island, Nusa Lembongan

It is better to stay away from

• Tap water:

Check if the cap is still on your purchased water bottles. Can you safely drink water? Then this is a blessing in disguise. With salads, use caution and thoroughly peel the fruit. If not, you might spend more time in the toilet than on the beach.

• Pet dogs:

particularly when, Despite their charming appearance, there have been rabies complaints, and Sarah had to have multiple shots after being bitten last year.

• Kuta:

If you dislike mass tourism, stay away from crowded Kuta. The food could be better, the prices are higher, and the beach is mainly plastic, which is disappointing. Everyone is free to have their viewpoint. However, we know there are better locations than Kuta in Bali.

It's common in Bali to:

o Have a personal "driver." If you want to see the entire island, this advice can help you save money. Learn a few Balinese languages and communicate clearly with your taxi driver. He will chauffeur you for a specific fee if you do it correctly. Use your common sense, but be careful that he doesn't lead you to any shops or tourist attractions where they can earn a commission.

o Do some business. Tourists and salespeople play a game, especially when market prices are negotiable.

o Give advice. There are few friendly individuals in Bali. Do they carry your bag, or do you get assistance? Please tip nicely.

o Take a scooter rental and tour the island. Always wear a helmet, please!

Ready? Get on a plane and head to paradise! You will only be visiting Bali once!
